By Barbro Karlen. This is the personal story of a Swedish woman who claims to be the reincarnation of Anne Frank. (An in-depth Reb Gershom review entitled Anne Frank Returned? was published in Life & Soul in 1999 and reprinted in Venture Inward in January 2000.) Click here to order

Amerindian Rebirth: Reincarnation Belief Among North American Indians and Inuit Edited by Antonia Mills and Richard Slobodin. An excellent collection of anthropoligical studies based, in part, on presentations at the annual meeting of the Canadian Anthropological Society, Montreal, in 1990. The first book (at least that we know of) to explore Native American beliefs about rebirth in a scholarly way. Click to read Reb Gershom's review and order

The Soul of Your Pet: Evidence for Survival of Animals in the Afterlife. Do animals have souls? Are there animals in Heaven? Do they come back to visit us? These true stories are real food for thought...

Reborn in the West:
The Reincarnation Masters

By Vickie MacKenzie. A journalist explores the phenomenon of Tibetan tulkus, or reincarnated spiritual masters, some of whom have been reborn into non-Tibetan bodies in the USA. Included among the "reincarnation masters" is Reb Gershom, in a full chapter with material that goes deeper into Jewish reincarnation teachings than the usual. Fascinatingly, in both cultures (Tibetan and Jewish), the returning souls often pick up where they left off in their last life, seeking out familiar rituals and re-connecting with the same circle of souls. Why Jesus taught Reincarnation

This book by the author of The Edgar Cayce Primer is aimed at Christians from a traditional Bible-oriented background. The first two chapters trace historical references to reincarnation in early Christianity. The book then takes you chapter-and-verse through an excellent argument for reincarnation in the Bible. In chapter Four, "Ye shall be born again," the author makes a good case for this being a reference to reincarnation, not conversion! If you are a Christian, this book will show how reincarnation is compatible with your faith. Click here to order

Light Beyond the Darkness: The Healing of a Suicide Beyond the Threshold of Death by Dore Deverell. The story of how the mother of a suicide healed his soul and enabled him to reincarnate by reading him inspirational literature. Sheds new light on the concept of prayers helping the dead to progess in the next world. Written from an Anthroposophist POV, but the principles would work for all paths. Amazon.com currently lists this as unavailable but you can get it from Amazon.co.uk

Books by Dr. Brian Weiss

Dr. Brian Weiss is the famous Yale-educated psychiatrist who left behind his rationalist skepticism to become a past-life therapist. He has been featured on countless TV and radio shows. Last we heard, he had a two-years-plus client waiting list. So it would be faster (and a whole lot cheaper!) to read his books first...

Many Lives, Many Masters Published in 1988, this was his first book, where he encounters a patient with past life recall, and struggles to come to grips with evidence for reincarnation.

Through Time into Healing is probably the best of his books in terms of anecdotal past-life cases and how they can be healed. If you only buy one Weiss book, this should be it.

Only Love is Real: The Journey of Soulmates Reunited The title says it all. Two patients, Elizabeth and Pedro, were lovers in a past life and find each other again through Dr. Weiss...

Oldies but Goodies: The Reincarnation and NDE Classics

These need no introduction -- they come up in just about every study on the subject or reincarnation and/or Near Death Experiences (NDEs). Most of these are paperback reprints.

Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation by Iam Stevenson.

Edgar Cayce on Reincarnation by Noel Langley.

Many Mansions: The Edgar Cayce Story on Reincarnation by Gina Cerminara.

Life After Life: by Raymond Moody. The classic book by the author who first coined the phrase "near-death experience." Reissue paperback edition.

Life Between Life by Dr. Joel Whitton, explores NDE cases where the subjects remembered the bardo or between-lives state.

Closer to the Light: Learning from the Near-Death Experiences of Children by Dr. Melvin Morse. Mass market paperback reprint edition.

Children's Past Lives by Carol Bowman. One of the best books on how to deal with kid's pastlife memories. If your children are telling you stories about "when they were big," read this book.

The Search for Grace by Dr. Bruce Goldberg. What more can you want? A real live case where a murder victim reincarnates and solves her own murder! Also interesting is the repeated pattern of incarnations leading up to the murder. Well-documented.

We're Here: An Investigation into Gay Reincarnation By Lynn Kear, Ph.D. In this first-of-a-kind book, the author has done a monumental job of bringing together hundreds of footnoted references to reincarnation and homosexuality.

Returning from the Light by Brad Steiger. This book has a wide variety of models for understanding reincarnation cases. Includes a chapter on identifying archetypes that Reb Gershom often cites, as well as an interview with Reb Gershom himself. (Published in mass-market paperback only.)
