More Reincarnation Links:
Holocaust, Civil War, Titanic, etc.
Update: October 10, 2003
There seem to be quite a few books coming out lately about people claiming
to be reincarnations of documentable historical figures, including
Anne Frank, and Thomas Andrews, (the man who
designed the Titanic), and numerous U.S. Civil War
cases. You will find links to these and other interesting reincarnation
pages here. I don't necessarily agree with everything you will find on
all these sites, but they certainly are interesting to explore!
Be sure to check out the reincarnation
section of my online bookstore. Your purchases there help
keep this website online.

Is Barbro Karlen really Anne Frank returned?
My article, Anne Frank Returned?
is now posted on the Web. This review of her book, And the
Wolves howled, was first published in
Life & Soul
(formerly Reincarnation International,) published by
Karma Press in London (Issue #16, spring 1999).
Plus, if you read German, you can go to the
auf Deutsch (German) page, for more links about Barbro Karlen.

He built the Titanic...
The story of Bill Barnes, who claims to be the reincarnation of
Thomas Andrews, designer of the Titanic, is one of the most
convincing cases I have come across lately. When my wife Caryl
and I listened to his audiobooks, we were so caught up in the story
that we literally could not turn the tape player off. You will be
fascinated, too! A definite "two thumbs up!" For a
more extensive article by me, click on the banner below:
Stretch your brain a bit with my presentation at the Institute for
Discovery Science in Las Vegas, May 1997. Examine some multi-cultural
bloopers which can teach us important lessons about how different
cultures perceive reincarnation. Based on my personal experiences
in dialoguing with scientists, theologians, psychics, New Agers,
and laypersons.

Reincarnation and the Holocaust FAQ
Part 1 Discusses issues directly
related to the content of my two books, Beyond the Ashes
(1992) and From Ashes to Healing (1996). Contains
some clarifications about which Jewish groups believe in
reincarnation, some misconceptions and media distortions about my
work, the similarities and differences between Hasidim and New Age
teachings, the concept of the Jewish soul, etc.
Part 2discusses general issues of beliefs
about karma and how they relate to the Holocaust, such as: who comes
back as who, antisemitism in certain New Age circles, the souls of the
perpetrators, thoughts on healing the karma of the Holocaust, Jewish
teachings on forgiveness, etc.
Part 3 continues the discussion
from Part 2, with responses to questions about Orthodox
Jews and karma, Monteleone's
Night of Broken Souls novel, etc.
The good, the bad, and the ugly -- what others think about my
books and my reincarnation work. Here you will find reviews by
venerable pubs like the Journal of Regression Therapy,
articles from newspapers and other periodicals, interviews with me,
etc.
For articles in German, go to the auf
Deutsch page.
Alice Bailey was a New Age psychic who was active in the 1940's, and
whose books are still widely read today in certain New Age circles.
Unfortunately, she had some pretty antisemitic ideas about Jews and
Jewish past-life karma, including the Holocaust. Also unfortunately,
these negative ideas about Jews are still circulating in the 1990's.
My editor at A.R.E. Press refused to let me discuss this issue in my
books because the press didn't want the political controversies.
But now, at long last, you can read all about it right here. (For
further discussions of anti-Jewish stereotypes in general, go to the
Antisemitism menu.)
Jewish Views of the Afterlife
By Simchal Paull Raphael, Ph.D.
If you want to know more about Jewish beliefs about life after death
(not just reincarnation), I highly recommend this book. One of the
best sources on this topic available in English today. Go to
his web page
for info about the contents of the book, then come back here to
order a copy. Whether you are Jewish or not, make this book a
permanent addition to your reference shelf.
But, if you prefer something less academic (and a lot cheaper...)
Try
What Happens After I Die?: Jewish Views of Life After Death
by Rifat Sonsino and Daniel B. Syme. This basic, 147-page paperback,
put out by the Reform movement, gives an overview of various Jewish
beliefs about life after death, including reincarnation. (Which, for
an official Reform pub, is pretty radical!)
Having dreams about the Holocaust?
You might want to check out the
Shoah
Dream Project. (Shoah means 'Holocaust' in Hebrew.)
The Shoah Dream Project brings together accounts of dreams with
Holocaust themes. Arnie Bernstein did a great job of collecting
these dreams and getting them online, so please give it a read.
This page also has a lot of good links to sites with Holocaust info
and themes.
Do your children tell you about past-life memories?
If your children are describing memories of the Holocaust or other
past-life events, then I highly recommend Carol Bowman's newest book,
Children's Past Lives (Bantam Books, released April 1997).
Absolutely the best book on the market for dealing with past-life
flashbacks, etc. of children.

excellent reviews and order a copy.
Interested in other aspects of reincarnation?
Check out the homepage of
Life & Soul magazine
(formerly Reincarnation International), out of London. Editor Roy
Stemman does a great job of pulling together a multi-cultural rainbow
of articles and stories about reincarnation from around the world.
From the scientifically serious to the definitely wacky --
he covers it all. Well worth subscribing to -- I certainly do!
And speaking of odd facts -- did you know there is a
reincarnation reference in Herman
Melville's famous novel, Moby Dick?
Now that you're back from checking out Melville, you can find
out about some
Civil War reincarnation cases!
from Barbara Lane's book, Echoes from the
Battlefield, which is a study of twelve Civil War re-enactors
who underwent hypnotic regression to the time of the U.S. Civil War.
Turns out their fascination with that period of history was rooted
in past lives, and some of the material was historically verifiable.
Fascinating!
Budding authors --- please don't send me your manuscripts!
A lot of people do not realize that I have absolutely no input
as to what books my publishers will publish. Many of you also do not
realize that if you send an unsolicited manuscript to somebody (author,
publisher, or literary agent), you must send adequate return
postage and packaging or you will not get the manuscript back. Why not?
Because it simply costs too much to pay the postage for returning all those
heavy manuscripts.
On my end, I must be honest and say that I don't have time to give free
evaluations of manuscripts, even if they are fascinating biographies of
Holocaust past lives -- so most of them just go unread anyway. However,
if you are interested in hiring me to read your manuscript and give you
my professional feedback as a writer, then
email me for an estimate on my freelance editing and proofreading service.
But I do review already-published books..
If you have already published a book on reincarnation and would
like me to consider reviewing it, go to my
authors and publishers' review page for instructions on where
to send me review copies. Books that I like will be reviewed here
and on Amazon.com, and possibly in other places, maybe featured
on my homepage, as well as sold in
Gershom's Book Shop.
